Tobacco flannels or felts were popular textiles premiums in the 1900's and were inserted into the packaging of cigarettes. The small ones were in or on products and the larger ones could be ordered through a catalog in exchange for coupons which were in the packaging. One of the most unusual but popular subjects for flannels was the American Indian blanket. There were many themes and were mostly aimed at men. Women would use them to make quilts and other piece work.
