Native American Oil On Board Paintings 20th C. (2)
For your consideration are two Native American oil on board paintings done by two separate artists circa 20th century. The first in this collection shows an older Native American woman looking past the viewer out into the distance. She is wearing beads and a feathering her hair and has dark hair. The bottom left is signed "Groff" in orange/red paint. The second in this lot shows a Native American scene. The painting shows teepees scattered across the plain as a river cuts through the middle. In the background you can see a hide being tanned and two or three Native Americans doing daily chores or relaxing. The painting is signed in the bottom right corner reading, "Dinkins" in black paint. Both paintings are set in a nice wood frame with the larger one being painted gold. They show good condition overall with slight wear present but no signs of obvious damage. The smaller piece measures 6 1/2" L x 4 3/8" W (visible art) while the entire piece measures 10 3/8" L x 8 3/8" W x 1 1/4" D. The larger measures 7 3/8" L x 9 5/16" W (visible art) while the entire piece measures 14 1/16" L x 16" W x 1 3/8" D.
