<B>National Comics #1 Mile High pedigree (Quality, 1940) CGC VF- 7.5 White pages.</B></I> A Lou Fine cover on a bright Mile High copy -- it doesn't get much better than that for the Golden Age collector! The superhero Uncle Sam made his first appearance here, as did his sidekick Buddy, probably the youngest sidekick ever, at least as drawn by Fine! Will Eisner handled the interior art. This is a beautiful book, notwithstanding the 7.5 grade, assigned because of a tough-to-see stain at one corner. We still don't know of a copy we'd rather own, nor has CGC certified a high-grade copy -- in fact, this is the only one graded above 6.0 as of this writing. Overstreet 2006 VF 8.0 value = $3,563.
