National Association of Manufacturers Lot (x9) National Association of Manufacturers Lot
National Association of Manufacturers Lot (Lot of 10) This lot features 10 posters printed for the National Association of Manufacturers, the nation's large industrial trade association, which represents small and large manufacturers in every sector in all 50 states. These posters were printed more as propaganda than to promote giving and charity. Each one contains a unique message about how to behave and act during war time, or about how certain events during the war have affected the United States. These main goal of this series of posters was to provide workers with motivation. This was a common theme during WWII but rarely seen during WWI. This lot is a large collection of some of the rarest posters made. The posters featured in this lot are as follows: "Dr. Uncle Sam" x2, "The Shot That Will Win The War" x2, "Go Over the Top with the Tank that Will Win the War," "Which Bridge Do You Want?" "Our Three Lines of National Defense," "Agitation" x 2, "Get Busy and Help Take the Dust Out." The "Dr. Uncle Sam" poster is a classic example of a propaganda poster printed to motivate workers and citizens. It is done much in the political cartoon style of the late 19th century and depicts two sick men in beds with Dr. Uncle Sam attending to them. Above their heads are the words, "Wage Earner" and "Wage Payer." The text below explains how Dr. Uncle Sam will make these patients better. "Dr. Uncle Sam is now in charge of our industrial troubles. He has prescribed a Victory Tonic called Co-operation. It will bring better feeling among our wage-earners and wage-payers and will cure strife." Co-operation was the main message in these series of posters. This lot is a fantastic chance to get a large number of this series at once! A rare find in this condition! All posters in this lot measure 25" x 19".

Condition-Dr. Uncle Sam #1- Superior; dirt stains on lower edge. Dr. Uncle Sam #2-Fine; several minor/major tears on top edge. Our Three Lines Of Defense-Fine; water damage stains in center of poster, dirt stains and residue on upper edge. The Shot That Will Win The War #1-Superior; hairline tear upper edge, dirt stains and residue upper edge. The Shot That Will Win The War #2-Good; water damage stains on a large portion of the right side, normal wear on edges from rolling/storage, some wrinkling from uneven storage. Which Bridge Do You Want?-Superior; small tear left edge, excellent!! Go Over The Top With The Tank-Superior, small tear on upper and lower edges.
