National Association of Manufacturers Lot #2 (9) National Association of Manufacturers Lot #2
National Association of Manufacturers Lot #2 (Lot of 9) This lot features nine posters from the National Association of Manufacturers or their affiliates. The National Association of Manufacturers is the nation's large industrial trade association, which represents small and large manufacturers in every sector in all 50 states. These posters were printed more as propaganda than to promote giving and charity. Each one contains a unique message about how to behave and act during war time, or about how certain events during the war have affected the United States. These main goal of this series of posters was to provide workers with motivation. This was a common theme during WWII but rarely seen during WWI. This lot is a large collection of some of the rarest posters made. The posters featured in this lot are as follows: "Success In War" x 2; "The Test Of Our Loyalty"; "Will You Co-operate or Will You Obstruct?"; "Teamwork Will Win the War" x2; "The Hand That Threatens"; "United American Industry Must Back Up Our Boys" x2. This is an excellent lot featuring nine poster measuring 25"x 19" and most in the standard red, white, and blue colors of the series, it appears that most of these were drawn by an artist named Phifer. The goal of these posters was to motivate workers, and alleviate tensions at work caused by long hours and harsh quotas. For example the poster. "Will You Cooperate or Will you Obstruct?" reads; "America needs its man power. Sticking to your job will help to shorten the war and pave the way for a prosperous peace. The demand for supplies for our boys "Over There" is so great that every bit of man power we possess is needed. If you can't enlist, get a job and hold onto it!" This sort of propaganda was used to keep men working and producing goods at a feverish rate. This lot is a must have for any serious collection!

Condition- Will You Cooperate or Will You Obstruct?-Good; dirt stains and residue on top edge, water damage on lower edge, some ink transference from blue to white, pink liquid has dried on the back and stained the back white paper. United American Industry Must...#1-Good; cockling from severe fold memory, severe tear on upper edge, dirt stains and residue on edges, water damage stains on right edge. United American Industry Must...#2-Fine; normal wear on edges from storage/rolling, water damage stains and dirt stains on lower edge. The Hand That Threatens-Fine; normal wear on edges from rolling/storage, water damage stain on lower edge. The Test Of Our Loyalty-Fine; water damage on upper edge. Success In War #1-Superior; dirt stains and residue on upper edge. Success In War #2-Superior; dirt stains and residue on upper edge. Teamwork Will Win The War #1-Superior; water damage on lower edge. Teamwork Will Win The War #2-Fine; normal wear on edges from rolling/storage, water damage stain on top edge, dirt stains and residue on lower edge.
