National Arms No. 2 Derringer .38 RF SN: 10840
Engraved single shot spur trigger derringer chambered in .38 Rimfire, circa 1860's. Predecessor to the Colt derringer, who bought to patent in 1870. Features a factory engraved steel frame, pivoting 2 1/2" contoured barrel marked "National Arms Co. Brooklyn N.Y.", broken front sight, knife blade extractor, iron frame, serrated spur trigger, serrated hammer spur and two piece birds head varnished walnut grips. Derringer shows a dark gray/brown patina overall with legible markings. Hammer doesn't lock in the cocked position, bore is very good and wood grips are good with high edge wear and varnish loss. Condition is very good as antique. ***Antique Firearm***
