National Arms Company Number 2 Derringer with Desirable Two Inch Barrel
Manufactured circa 1865 to 1870. This derringer has the scarce 2 inch barrel and has no provisions for an extractor. The top of the barrel is marked "NATIONAL ARMS CO BROOKLYN. N.Y.", with blade front sight. Broad scroll engraved iron frame and barrel, with a simple geometric pattern engraved on the backstrap. The serial number and "BK" are stamped on the left side of the frame under the grip, with traces of an illegible serial number on the underside of the barrel. Fitted with checkered bird head grips.

Good. The derringer has a smooth gray patina with some deep pitting contained to the right side of the frame. The right grip panel has some internal chipping, otherwise the grips are good with some minor dings and scratches and very good checkering.
