National .41 rim-fire caliber derringer with scarce and desirable 2” snub nose barrel retaining most of its original blue finish, serial number 598. Only approximately 850 are estimated to have been produced with theshort barrel and are rarely found. Approximately 75% to 85% original blue remains. The barrel address is good and clear and the barrel shows some beginning erosion and pinprick pitting. The frame is a nicelight brass patina with good sharp engraving and edges. There is some darkened case hardening on the hammer. The hammer spur and button release are original and the action works correctly. The bore is very good plus. A scarce derringer in exceptionally good condition. Est.: $2,000- $4,000.
