Starr 1813 Contract Cavalry Saber with 33 1/4 inch blade with narrow fuller and pointed tip. "N STARR" is stamped on the obverse ricasso. The saber has an iron birds head pommel, backstrap, knuckleguard, and down turned quillion. The wooden grip has seven grasping grooves. 2) Starr 1818 Contract Cavalry Saber with nickel-plated, 32-inch single fullered clip point blade. The blade is marked "U.S. /P/ LS/ N. STARR on the pommel with capsian knot, iron backstrap, knuckle bow and down turned quillion. The saber has a wooden grip with seven grasping grooves. 3) Starr 1818 Contract Cavalry Saber. The saber has the same configuration as item 2 except the obverse ricasso is marked: "U.S. / P/T N. STARR".

1) The 1813 Saber is in fair condition. The blade and guard have a dark patina with moderate to heavy pitting. The blade markings are faint. The grip is missing the leather cover. The saber has no scabbard. 2) The 1818 Saber is in good condition. The blade has 70% of the plated finish. The blade markings are sharp. Metal surfaces are generally smooth. The grip is missing the leather cover and the saber has no scabbard. 3) The 1818 Saber is in fair to good condition. The blade is dark with scattered pitting and legible markings. The hilt has a dark patina. The saber is missing the leather grip cover and scabbard.
