One of basketball’s most important innovators (1896–1995). Playing most of his career with the Original Celtics, Holman's extraordinary skills, a deft passer and brilliant floor leader, were innovative for the era, and made the Celtics virtually unbeatable. While barnstorming with the Celtics, Holman also handled the duties of coaching City College of New York. ALS, one page, 8.5 x 11, The City College letterhead, April 3, 1985. Holman responds to a fan. In part: “I have written four books on the game of Basketball but all of them have been sold. The enclosed copies of my affiliation with the game should refreshen your memory of days gone by!” In fine condition, with a few creases.
