1) Napoleonic War Thomas Craven Pattern of 1796 English Light Cavalry Saber with Scabbard manufactured in Birmingham. Curved single fuller blade, 32" long with "THOMAS CRAVEN" faintly marked on the spine. Stirrup profile knuckle guard, steel construction, with a ribbed wood and leather grip. With a nickel finished iron sheath with 2 hanging rings. 2) Clemen & Jung (Solingen) 1840 pattern heavy cavalry sword, 35 1/2" curved double fuller blade with maker's marks on left ricasso, 2 branch guard, Phrygian helmet pommel, wire and leather grips and iron sheath. 3) Unmarked 1840 sword, 36" blade, otherwise as #1.

Condition: 1) Fair with polished hilt, pitting on the steel, a few dings on the blade, loss of wire and leather on the grip, and cracking and flaking of the plated scabbard. 2) Fine. The blade is bright with most of the original polish beneath the tip. Mixed dark patina on the hilt, lost leather and heavily pitted scabbard. 3) Fair, blade cleaned with pitting and dings, mixed patina on the hilt, light wear on the grip, heavily pitted scabbard. The twisted brass wire wrap is loose.
