LS in French, signed “Np,” one page, 7.25 x 9, December 29, 1811. Letter to his Minister of War, the Duc de Feltre, General Henri-Jaques Guillaume Clarke. Loosely translated: “It seems to me opportune that the Marine which has lot of means should provide the necessary tools for the workers, the containers and also the docking. Please send me a report that makes me know which are the necessary tools for 800 workers, how many containers and of which type. Finally which is the number of horses necessary. After this I pray God that could grant you the Holy Guard.” In fine condition, with some light wrinkling, and old notation pinned to bottom of letter.
