French soldier and political figure (1763–1815), he served under Napoleon Bonaparte, who named him Marshal of France in 1807. Ink signature, “Mal Brune,” on an off-white 4.5 x 2.5 clipped slip with pencil notation to lower right, and affixed to a slightly larger card. In very good condition, with toning and soiling to the right side, and an irregular top edge.
