American-born politician (1879–1964) who was the first woman to serve in the British Parliament. Four items: one vintage 5.5 x 3.5 postcard photo signed in fountain pen, “Nancy Astor MP, 1919–1945”; one TLS, one page, 8 x 6.75, Cliveden letterhead, September 8, 1952, responding to an admirer and giving her opinion on Churchill; one combination ALS/TLS, one page both sides, 5.5 x 7, personal letterhead, March 21, 1950, responding to an admirer; and one fountain pen signature on a light gray 4.75 x 3 card. In overall fine condition, with staple holes to the postcard, slightly affecting the signature. Accompanied by two original mailing envelopes.
