Two items: a Rye National Bank check, 7.75 x 2.75, filled out and signed by Ed Barrow, "E. G. Barrow," payable to M. Capiri & Co. for $94.95, January 7, 1953; and a TLS signed "Jacob Ruppert, Jr.," one page, 8.25 x 7.25, Jacob Ruppert Brewer letterhead, December 20, 1909, addressed to Carl A. Loeffler, in part: "I sincerely hope that you will succeed in your efforts to gain the desired promotion. Should any letters referring to you reach me I will, agreeable to your request, forward them to you before answering the same." In overall fine condition. The Ruppert letter is uncommonly early, written some six years before he and Tillinghast L'Hommedieu Huston purchased the New York Yankees for $480,000.
