This is an American first edition of Samuel Clemens’ classic literary work. Originally published in England in December 1884, Clemens and a business partner Charles L. Webster formed a publishing company and brought the work to America in February, 1885. This edition is signed MR. LEWIS BRADLEY, SAN FRANCISCO, and CAL-MARCH 1885.

First Edition, first printing with the important first issue points. The points present are: Heliotype Printing Co. imprint is present, the heading for chapter 6, on page 9 reads decided (later this was corrected to Decides; on page 13 him and another man reference is to page 88 not 87; page 57, 11 lines up, says .with the was. not with the saw.; Page 143 in line 7 down from the top part of b in body is broken; on page 155 the 5 in 155 is missing. A beautiful copy that has minor shelf wear to the edges and corners of the green cloth cover and slight unraveling of the string on the binding. There are also some inscriptions on both the otherwise blank back page and inside back cover. The handwritten inscriptions read L.L. BRADLEY ELKO, AUG.15/86 NEVADA HKA#62402
