This lot consists of four decks of playing cards and a souvenir spoon from the Pan American Exposition in Buffalo, New York. The fair, held in 1901, was noteworthy in history as the location where President William McKinley was assassinated by Leon Czolgosz.

Ironically, the spoon has a relief of the Temple of Music in its bowl, the site where the assassination took place. The playing cards are all boxed, with broken seals, but are in excellent condition. This is a nice collection of items from a world changing event.
