Goldfield , Esmeralda County. Letters and promissory notes from Buckhorn Mines Co. to Bernard M. Baruch for various promised sums to be paid in gold coin. The main letter, dated July 7, 1916, is signed by the Mine`s president and secretary, and has the mine`s embossed corporate seal stamped thereon. There are 13 1 dollar revenue stamps affixed. There are 3 other proxy notes of various dates, indicating transactions or promissory actions for other sums, with all but 1 featuring the corporate seal. These documents are in very good to excellent condition, and feature numerous hand-written notes and signatures. All are approx. 8.5 in width, while length varies. Bernard Baruch was a well-know and respected Wall Street financier and banker, who advised Presidents Wilson and Roosevelt in matters of finance.
