This lot of Nevada mining relics includes 1) A 12 shiv wheel embossed A. Leschen Sons Rope Co. St. Louis USA 6228 and found in the Aurora mill. 2) A blasksmith-made single windlass (38 long center piece, total length of 60 with the crank), which would have been used to haul a small bucket of material up from a mine shaft. Constructed of wood with metal bracing and crank arm. Found in the bottom of a shaft on Silver Hill in Aurora NV, c19th century. 3) A classic handmade underground ladder (14 wide x 55 high) with the four staves inset for stability. Assembled with square nails, c1880s. 4) A 10 wide x 34 long piece of a dragline dredge with small (less than 1 gallon) buckets bolted to the rubber strip. This flexible dredge would have been used in soft material, like sand and silt found in places like the Nome mining camps. The buckets are embossed REX/ Chain Belt Co./ MS 10 x 6-A/ Made in USA on the underside. This lot offers four great items for every western mining enthusiast. Maish Collection HKA#63203
