Lot of 8. In the summer of 1906, Wonder sprang up as a small mining community. A few months later, the town boasted having two newspapers, a post office, drug store, an assay office, a freight depot, saloons, cafes, hotels, and a boarding house. The main mining companies lasted until 1919. Today, Wonder is a ghost town with only a few wooden structures still standing. Wonder is about 40 miles east of Fallon [Paher, Nevada Ghost Towns and Mining Camps, 1973].
