Lot of 7 ore specimens from the Comstock Lode. Vein material of galena, spahalerite, pyrite, tetrahedrite, and argentite, in addtion to secondary supergene silver ore comprise this group. 3 bonanza ore samples were collected from the Old Red Ledge at Gold Hill. Discovered from surface outcrops in 1859, claims on this discovery eventually merged into the Consolidated Imperial Mining Co. with over $9 million in ore eventually taken from the deep mines between 1864-1891. Samples also include slabbed and polished vein material "From the Cabinent of Old Pacific Brewery" in addition to cerargyrite collected from Buring Moscow and vein material from the "Pfeiffer Claim." Other labeled sample locations include the Overman Mine, Baltimore Mine and Red Jack Mine with the later having reported assays of $400 ton for the gold-silver ore.
