A MAJOR, rare publication fully titled as follows: Report to the Directors and Stockholders of the Mexican Gold and Silver Mining Co., Union Consolidated Mining Co., Savage Gold and Silver Mining Co., Hale Norcross Mining Co., and Julia Consolidated Mining Co., Being A Brief Statement Of The Situation On The Comstock, The Methods Of Mining For Assessments and the Intentional Mismanagement of the Middle and North End Mines by a Clique of Six Crooked Brokers Composed of A.F. Coffin, Herman Zadig, B.F. Shaw, J.H. Berghauser, W.B. Bannan (and)

W.H. Moise. Showing The Reasons That Mining There Cannot Now Be Other Than Unprofitable, Together With An Appeal To All Stockholders In the Middle And North End Mines To Deal With Honest Brokers Instead Of With The Crooks. Written By Whitman Symmes, Superintendent of the Mexican Mine, Etc. and Formerly, For More Than One Year Superintendent of the United Comstock Plumping Association. This expose, naming names in a way that would probably not be allowed today, has 183 pages and is paper bound with recently-reinforced binding, and is printed by the Blair-Murdock Company of San Francisco. The final page quotes "The Remedy for existing Comstock conditions is to deal only with the brokers named on page four, who are not attempting to manipulate mine management. See that the stock you hold is in their names or in your own." Signed Whitman Symmes, Superintendent, Virginia City, Nevada, March 14, 1913.
