Map of the Delaware Mining Company in the Vernon Mining District, Vernon Nevada nestled in Pershing County north of Lovelock. The map displays three primary mining companies: the Seven Troughs Coalition Mining Company (located near Mazuma), the Fairview Mining Company, and the Delaware Mining Company. The map also shows three primary roads heading to and from Vernon. The first is main road from the town to the mining companies, the second heads to Lovelock (map indicated 28 miles away), and the third heads to Mazuma and Seven Troughs. The map is drawn on the Scale of 1” = 1,000 feet. Vernon was established in 1905 to host employees who worked in the Seven Troughs Mines. The Vernon and Seven Troughs Mining Districts’ production declined heavily within the next 5 years and by 1918 there were so few people left, the post office closed and most dwellings were either demolished or relocated to the “Tunnel Camp” nearby.
