Lot of 2. Stock was incorporated in Philadelphia, PA in 1866. No. 361 issued on November 29, 1867 to William Hacker for 500 shares. Signed by secretary Thomas Dunlap and president H. N. Day. One vignette along the lefhand side shows four miners working below ground and two working above ground droping buckets down to the ones below. There is also an allegorical vignette of an eagle standing on an American Shield holding a banner that reads "E. Pluribus Unum." The border is black and the seal is bright red in the bottom left corner. There is also a red revenue stamp on the lower right hand corner. It measures approximately 1"x2" and has a vignette of George Washington. The text reads "United States Inter Revenue Twenty Five Cts." There are three faded blue ink stamps over the top. U/C, and printer is obscured by the seal. Measures 10.25" x 6.5". Overall good condition. The edges are somewhat worn and there are a few minor creases running vertically up the page. A very faded seal mark on the opposite corner from the red seal, possibly from being folded. The stereoview measures 6.75"x3.25". Images are high contrast with good detail. Mounted on orange matte board. Photographed by James Cremer's Stereoscopic Emporium. Period writing on the reverse places the photographs at "Chestnut St. above 4th, Phila." The images are a street view. A road runs diagonally from the center bottom to the middle left side. There is a central station, The American Cow Milking Machine Co., a tailor shop, but most specifically a sign for the Monte Cristo Gold and Silver Mining Company of Nevada. The corners and edges of the Stereoview are somewhat worn. There are some minor marks on the photographs, likely from use. The reverse has a few dirt stains, also likely from use.
