Incorporated in the Territory of Arizona, 1905. No. 54. This certificate was never issued. There is no name, date or number of shares. It is signed by D. Rayerafy (?), Vice President and J. A. Magill, Secretary. The gold seal has not been impressed. Printed by John Partridge of San Francisco. In the upper left is a native American in full headdress done in red ink. In the center, measuring 3" x 5” is a stamp scene of a river. The remainder of the certificate is black ink on crème paper. Kawich was also known as Gold Reed. It was located ESE of Goldfield. Gold was discovered there in late 1904 and by 1905 men began arriving. Kawich became the main camp with smaller camps all around. Most of the significant properties were mined by the Gold Reed Company. By 1907 the town and the mines no longer existed. [REF: Paher, 332] Some damage on left side.
