Wells Fargo & Co. Express Consignee’s Receipt dated October 21, 1916, from Carb Lead Mines, Co. through the Zabriskie, Cal. Office; “Account shipment of “Pa” from Los Angeles” W/B No. 11 dated 10-17 with weight of 2 (pounds?). The shipper was Weinstock Nickels. The charges were $23. The payment was received by A.F. Cox; also written in lower left: “for MacLean.” Document has some small holes and a stain upper left corner. Zabriskie was the name of a station along the Tonopah and Tidewater Railway route to and from Death Valley. The location was named after Christian Brevoort Zabriskie vice-president and general manager of the Pacific Coast Borax Company.
