Lot of 10 pieces from the Reese River and Austin districts. 1) Erie Gold and Silver Mining Company blank check. Datelined Austin, N.T. 186x. Printer: Towne & Bacon, San Francisco. 2) Ruby Mountain Mining Company of Austin blank stock certificate #208. Incorporated in Nevada in 1920. Three mining scene vignettes across top. Black border, gilt safety print and seal. Unsigned, unissued. Printer: Goes. 5 ½ x 10.” 3-4-5) Three Austin Commercial Company stock certificates. Cert. #1, issued to J.A. Miller in 1903 for 11,500 shares. Incorporated 1902. Signed by W.W. Christian, president, and J.A. Miller secretary. Cancelled by issued No. 16, May 10, 1904 on reverse and endorsed by J.A. Miller. Printer: H.S. Crocker Co., S.F., datelined Austin. 4 x 9 ¼” with black border on crème paper. Stub attached. Second certificate is #5, issued to W.W. Christian in 1903 for 1000 shares. Moffatt and another officer (illegible).Black border with gilt safety print and seal. 8 ½ x 10 ½.” This mine was flourishing about 1908 when the Mining & Scientific Press (Vol. 97, p. 37, 1908) noted that the company “…is employing nearly 40 men on its properties at Austin.” 8) Nevada Duluth Mining Company stock.
