This is the complete 1907 second edition, hardbound, measuring 11 x 15." This publication is considered by Nevada historians to be perhaps the most important early 20th century pictorial/promotional work on mining camps and companies. It was published by Charles Sprague, an important name in early Nevada history. The 1906 first edition was a simple four-page newspaper, but this is a 60 page folio-size edition with full-color cover. It is filled with photos of Nevada mining towns and mining men, plus valuable text, maps, mining company ads, and more. Featured towns include Ramsey, Gold Mountain, Silver Peak, Tonopah, Manhattan, Red Springs, Bullfrog, Rhyolite, Montezuma, Cortez, Round Mountain, Fairview, Johnnie, Wonder, Searchlight, Walker Reservation, Buckskin, Yerington, Ely, Diamondfield, and of course, Goldfield. There are only a handful of known copies and this is believed to be the only original hardbound example. It belonged to noted Nevada historian Lyle Ernest Vogt, who passed away in Elko in 1910. A highly important item for the serious Nevada collector. Choice. One of the finest known.
