Volume I, Number I. A weekly newspaper - pages 1-8. An article on page 1 is about approving a liquor business. Another article is about the re-opening of the Sentinel Building after it had been destroyed by a fire in 1879. The next few pages consist of short stories, horoscopes, an original crossword puzzle, stock exchanges, letters to the editor and advertisements. A full page detailed sketch by Henry R. Poore titled "From Mine to Mill" is on page 4. It is a sketch of four horses galloping down hill past a man leaning against a fence. The horses are pulling a wagon behind them and a man casually sits on top. The newspaper generally sold for 10 cents a piece or $5.00 for a year subscription. Great condition for its time, no tears, deep folds and yellowing throughout.
