Lot of 3 items, including: 1) agreement dated May 2, 1929, which grants James Boland exclusive rights to purchase for a period of 10 days certain mining claims in Nye County by Fred Remick. The area is described as "Riolite, Riolite #1. Tip Top, Tip Top #1. And One un-named claim adjoining and extending to the North of the Diamond Queen Claim and to the East of Tip Top." Signed by Fred Remick and L. O. Ray (attorney). 2) White border RPC of several deserted store fronts, with "Rhyolite, Nev./ The Deserted Ghost of the Desert./ Near Bungalette City Death Valley, Calif./ Fashers Foto - Pomona." In 1926, H.W. "Bob" Eichbaum was in the process of building a road from Darwin into Death Valley, when his equipment got stuck at the old stovepipe well. At that location he decided to build his resort, Bungalette City, which is now known as Stove Pipe Wells. 3) Photograph of building with "RHYOLITE" on a sign overhead (with letters starting to fall apart, such as the initial R now a P), an automobile parked to the left of the building, and several mules visible standing under shelter near the end of the building. Measures 5" x 3" with thin white border, medium contrast, and good focus.
