Lot of 3. 1. Original Bullfrog Mines Syndicate Stock; Incorporated in the Territory of Arizona; Certificate No. 1596 issued October 20, 1905 to W.E. Miles, Trustee for 1000 shares; signed by John E. Lutz, President and W.E. Miles, Assistant Secretary; printed by the Union Litho Co., S.F. ; U/C; green border on white paper, 5.5X10 inches. Green bullfrog vignette at center. Endorsed on reverse. The original Bullfrog mine was discovered by “Shorty” Harris in 1904. This syndicate owned and operated the mine until the Panic of 1907 when it was forced to close [Ref: Hall, Preserving the Glory Days: Ghost Towns and Mining Camps in Nye, Nevada, 1981. p. 256]. 2. Bullfrog, Nevada Prospectus: “The First Year’s Record of Bullfrog Nevada and Its Marvelous Mines,” published by the Forward Mining and Development Company, Suite 19, Toltec Building, Denver, Colorado; no date; printed by The App Co., Denver. The President was L.L. Patrick and the Secretary J.M. Patrick. This is a four-page leaflet; it measures 6x9” on crème paper with black ink and decorated with 16 green bullfrogs. The purpose of the prospectus was to encourage investments; the titles of the sections are: “A Good Field for Investment”, “The “Golden Horseshoe” and “Treasure Vaults”, “Eclipse Strike”, “Big Deals Daily Occurrence”, “Every Vein Carries Value”, “Bullfrog National Bank”, and “A Re-awakening in Nevada”. In 1905, L.L. Patrick was the head of a brokerage firm in Goldfield. Eventually he held mines in the Bullfrog district near Rhyolite. This Prospectus contains quotes from newspapers and experts, all promoting investments in Bullfrog. 3. Counter check with no check number, dated August 16, 1912 payable to the Oliver Typewriter Company for $15, charged to the account of A.E. Newton, #600 Union Oil Bldg., Los Angeles, Cal. The check is signed by Phil M. Chandler. Measures 8.25x 3” and has green ink on crème paper with a green bullfrog in the upper left corner. The front is stamped “paid.”
