A lot of 25 documents. Some of the documents come from towns in the vicinity of Rhyolite and Bullfrog such as Tonopah, Pioneer, Goldfield, and Beatty. Bullfrog never experienced the boom that was expected of it. Bullfrog was first established in 1905 when the tent city of Amargosa City moved to the new Bullfrog town site. The new town was "platted on the same plan as Amargosa, so it was an easy matter to locate residents into lots with the same relative locations" [Ref: Patera, Rhyolite the Boom Years, 7.) By 1909, Bullfrog had lost it's population to the larger town of Rhyolite; the Bullfrog post office closed the same year. In its four years of existence, the town had no more than a population of 300. At its heyday in 1905, Bullfrog boomed. There were many business along the town's main street including saloons, and three hotels. Rhyolite, always in competition, was established at nearly the same time. It's tale, though, is very similar. It's population boomed to nearly 3,500 in three years and included many businesses, three newspapers, and even three railroads. This town was expected to be around for many years, but by 1909 nearly all of the businesses were abandoned and most of its residents had left town. By 1920 only 14 residents remained. Rhyolite's bust took longer to manifest, but it ended the same way as its competition: another ghost town in the Nevada desert [Ref: http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/nv/bullfrog.html and Patera, Rhyolite The Boom Years].
