Norman Parkinson, LIFEWORK, London, Weidenfeld and Nicolson, 1983,
p. 184 (bio of model, Celia Hammond with another image of her illustrated opposite on p. 185)
The subject is Celia Hammond, one of the most successful new models in the London fashion scene of the early 1960s. Parkinson discovered her in 1961. Historian Martin Harrison quotes Parkinson's comments that "Her face is not versatile...When she started modelling, no-one would use her because she was not in the accepted idiom of beauty." "In fact," adds Harrison, "Celia Hammond's facial type, the broad, flat nose and sensual mouth, quite closely, and surely not coincidentally, approximated that of Christine Keeler, even though her appeal was not based on such scandalous connotations" (Martin Harrison, PARKINSON: PHOTOGRAPHS 1935-1990, London, Conran Octopus, 1994, n.p.).
