Ellis in Kerens, Texas, postmarked 1906 with company wax seal on back. Company was incorporated in 1902 under the laws of West Virginia, and the mines were located in Hillsboro, New Mexico. The Engineering & Mining Journal of 1906 reported a new mill being built by the company. The stamps at that mill were to be driven by electricity. Hillsboro was a gold rich mining center. Placer mining began in the area in 1877, but large-scale operations were severely hampered by lack of water [Ref: E&MJ 1906 p 592; Sherman, 1975 pp 112-115].
