Lot of 2. 1) Photograph depicting the San Marcial flood. The flood of 1866 wiped out the first site of San Marcial and the town relocated to higher ground. With the coming of the railroad in 1880, the new site of San Marcial was again located. This photograph depicts the rising waters of the Rio Grande over the existing train tracks. In 1929, the newer site of San Marcial was lost completely [Pearce, T.M., 1965]. Photograph measures 8.25" x 6.5". Mounted on tan board with writing at bottom. Board measures 10" x 8". Staining at center. 2) Application for License (No. 478) issued to the San Marcial Mercantile Co. C1890s. Signed by Bacal, Assessor. - Vinegar Collection
