This old badge has been printed more than once, and may have been used by the actual deputy marshal. The badge is shaped like a shield with an eagle engraved on the top. Badges measures around 2” x 2” and made out of metal. Little wear. One of the most famous events to happen in the area was the Lincoln County War that occurred in the 1870s. It was a battle that involved ranchers and the county store. Billy the Kid took part in the conflict and killed two deputies and the county sheriff.
