Lot of 2 letters from John DeLany, post Indian trader in general merchandise. 1) Dated March 9, 1883, measures 11” x 8.5” produced on white paper with black ink. Letter has wear, tears on the right side, upper left side and top. The letter is an invoice sent to a Mr. Browne in Las Vegas. 2) Dated May 31, 1884, measures 11” x 8.5” produced on white paper with black ink. Letter has wear, tears on the top and a tear on the lower right side. Letter is enquiring about a check. Fort Stanton was built in 1855 as a military Fort to protect settlers. In the 20th Century the Fort became America's first federal tuberculosis hospital. During World War II, it became an internment camp.
