The last town Marshal of Silver City was in the early 1950s. Silver City became the county seat for Grant County in 1874. During its boom, and before the railroad, ore was pulled into town by twelve and fourteen-horse teams. Bricks of gold and silver were stacked on sidewalks outside shipping offices [Pearce, T.M., 1965]. Black on silver. 1.25" x 2".
