Sterling silver with gold wash. Worn by New Mexico State Police Officer, Harry E. Shuart. Shuart was one of two plain clothes state police officers under Clyde Tingly, Governor (1934-1938). Tingley was a colorful politician who often misspoke grammatically with an often humorous affect. When he spoke to the volunteer USO girls during WWII, he is quoted as saying, "Now, ladies, I hope that you will do everything physically possible to make these young men happy" [newmexicohistory.org]. Blue on gold. 1.5" x 2.25". - Vinegar Collection
