Lot of 2. 1) Notice on bond and mortgage (1837) for $500. Signed by Richard D. Davis. 8" x 3.25". 2) Notice on bond and mortgage (1845) for $200. Signed by R.D. Davis. Slight tear at center. 8" x 3.25". Stephen H. Bogardus, Sr. was a harness shop owner in New York. His son is famous for his letters to the local paper between 1861 and 1865 telling of the activities of the Union military during the Civil War. After leaving the military, Bogardus, Jr. worked for the railroad in New Mexico, Texas, and Arkansas. He died in 1907 and is buried in New Mexico [valstar.net]. - Vinegar Collection
