New England Estate. 18th century colonial hooded rocking cradle comes from the estate home of William Livingston, New Jersey's first elected governor. He served in the Continental Congress in 1774-1776. He was elected governor by the legislature in 1776 and was reelected each year until his death in 1790. Original paint, Black with gold stencil and handpainted outline, a dark turquoise blue inside, Square nails. Condition: Great patina, some wear marks on edges but nothing to distract from its beauty or stability. Dimensions: 37"L x 19"W across hood, 24.5"H, 23"W rockers.
