Outstanding pair of ANTIQUE Nippon vases (could
be Arita/Imari, but
until we know for sure we'll stick with broader
category).

These octagonal baluster forms are
entirely hand painted.
On the blue areas monochromatic phoenixes
and gold designs. On the white area are views
of sparrows among peonies. The decoration
on the two vases is complementary rather
than identical or mirror image. Very beautiful.
They will look magnificent on your mantle.

Each measures (inches) @6-1/2 wide, @12-1/4
tall.
Marked on
underside with hand drawn Japanese
characters (as shown), probably the
artist's signature, which we have not yet
identified.

Very good condition. No chips, cracks,
dings or damage. However, there is a very
minor manufacturers flaw at the base of one
of the vases. It is very minor and you have to
look to spot this flaw. Please see photo.
Made in Japan, late
19th C.

Please see our inventory for more
Japanese porcelain. As well as unique items
and fine antiques.
