NINTH PLATE TINTYPE PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN.
American, 3rd quarter-19th century. Depicting a seated woman. Preserver inscribed on reverse "H.A. Dada". Believed to be Hattie (Harriet) A. Dada. In a Union case with a shield, eagle, flags, and bust of George Washington.

Harriet Dada (Harriet Dada Emens) enlisted as an army nurse in Alexandria, Virginia, on July 23, 1861, and served a total of four years, two months in military hospitals throughout the War.
