NINE LETTERS WRITTEN IN HEREFORDSHIRE, SHROPSHIRE AND SOUTH WALES ca 1809-1857. Mostly concerning family, or financial matters, but including one from a Richard Johnson (solicitor) of Hereford, to Edward Pearce of Ludlow informing him that the Rev. St. John will take action against him for brawling in the Churchyard of Staunton Lacey, unles an apology is received. (Feb.25th, 1837). Another, from a Mr Fallows of Hereford. on behalf of a Mr Hereford, complains at length to Lloyd and Ely, of Ludlow, about the quality of an instrument purchased from their shop (6th Feb, 1809). Some of the letters bear twopenny stamps of the 1850's and one, dated 1809, has the circular dated mileage mark used to record postage before the introduction of stamps. A collection £80-120
