NEW ENGLAND TWO-PIECE HEPPLEWHITE SECRETARY WITH INLAY. Attributed to Massachusetts. Mahogany flame veneer with pine secondary wood. French feet have scalloped returns. Banded inlay across the base. Beaded drawers have line inlay and old eagle brasses. Small folding writing surface is missing the interior covering. Top section includes three doors with matching line inlay and five interior drawers with five pigeon holes. Hidden drawer beneath the cornice. Provenance written inside a drawer states that it was passed down in the Hopkins family of New Hampshire and then to Ohio. Some genealogical information included. 41 1/4"w. 19 1/2"d. 52 1/4"h.
