Very rare NASA flight data recorder used in the Gemini project. Heavy metal box bears a label from NASA ''Property of Goddard Space Flight Center / 164218'' as well as a Lockheed label inscribed ''Recorder Type IX'' with the following serial identifications: ''P/N 1357274-505 / CCA 12080104 / AF 04(695)1[?]29, and ''LS8635001''. Also includes a sticker at center worn away with the word ''test'' remaining. In addition to the labels, the top bears large red stenciled lettering reading, ''FLY BY NO. 2''. Also handwritten ''3-10'' and the numbers ''7016'' twice. On the side are two plug terminals and an hour counter gauge showing plenty of use. Box measures 10.5'' x 4'' x 8.5'' and weighs 10 pounds, 10 ounces. Cracking to hour gauge and overall surface corrosion. An exceptionally rare NASA item.
