French Emperor (1852-70) who revived the Napoleonic Empire and led France to defeat in the Franco-Prussian War; nephew of Napoleon I, he assumed the leadership of the Bonaparte family on the death of Napoleon’s son in 1832. LS “<i>Napoleon Louis</i>” in French, 1p, 8vo, n.p. Dec 13, 1841. Untranslated. To General Vandoncourt in Paris thanking him for a book. The emperor “<i>wishes to express to the general my warm regard for the noble... feelings that he is writing</i>...” Boldly signed, adding in his holograph above, “<i>Please receive general my high esteem and best regards.</i>..” Tipped to 11"x8¼" bond beside engraving removed from book. Light general wrinkling; else VG. Accompanied by small address panel penned in his holograph postmarked in 1872 at Chiselhurst, England with postage stamp. Plus three printed lithographs of his beautiful wife Eugénie and his only son. Mounted.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
