NAPOLEON BONAPARTE: (1769 - 1821) The "Little Corporal" whose brilliance in the field of battle and as Emperor of France has made him perhaps the most important figure of post-Renaissance Europe. Superb, historic content L.S. "Nap" 1p. 4to., Tilsit, July 8, 1807, to his son Prince Eugene Napoleon, announcing the Tilsit Treaty! In part: "...Peace has been signed today between the Russians and France for the Prefect of Beavent...Its ratification will be made tomorrow...". Russian forces were crushed by Napoleon's army at Friedland on June 14, 1807, and three days later Russia asked for a truce. In the Treaties of Tilsit in July 1807, mentioned in this letter, Napoleon made peace with Russia in an agreement which forced Prussia to give up half of its territory. Near fine condition. $2,000-3,000
