<B>NANNIE HUDDLE (1860-9151)</B></I><BR>Untitled Still Life Zinnias<BR>Oil on canvas<BR>22 x 26 inches (55.9 x 66.0 cm)<BR>Signed lower right<BR><BR> Nannie Zenobia Carver was born in Wistler, Alabama, and relocated to Austin, Texas, where she studied art at St. Mary's Academy. In 1879, she took classes from William Henry Huddle, who was an instructor at St. Mary's. At the time, Huddle was one of the most accomplished artists in Texas. Ten years later the two were married. Known for her paintings of wildflowers, Nannie Huddle was one of the first Texas artists to paint bluebonnets.<B>Condition Report:</B> Applied patch to upper corner. Some paint loss to lower portion of painting.
