NAMEPLATE “WATERBUCK”. This 43“ cast brass nameplate was carried by the LNER B1 4-6-0, 1011, built at Darlington as Works No. 1991, emerging to traffic on 30th November 1946. It became BR 61011 from 23rd April 1948, and was latterly an Ardsley, Mirfield, and Gorton engine before withdrawal came on 2nd November 1962 from there. It was cut up at Darlington in January 1963. Surely one of the better B1 names. The nameplate is accompanied by the original BR sales receipt and correspondence (1963).
